Overview
The Occupational Certificate: Boilermaker focuses on the design and fabrication of intricate metal components essential for various industries. Students will learn to interpret complex drawings, layout, and develop metal parts, and manipulate materials like sheet metal, plate, and pipe to create components that meet precise design specifications. This skill set is vital for initial construction, replacements, and ongoing maintenance in sectors such as mining, petrochemical, and engineering.
This qualification provides a pathway to specialise in boilermaking, plating, welding, sheet metal work, or auto vehicle body building. It equips students with the expertise to progress to supervisory roles and apply their skills across diverse industries. Additionally, it lays the foundation for further specialization in engineering fabrication at NQF Level 5, addressing the specific needs of industries that require customized metal components and specialized fabrication processes.
